Normally, 6 to 12 months after closing, your driveway gets resurfaced. However, the timing could change depending on weather conditions. During the coldest winter months, the asphalt plant closes down. And as a result, only base coats can be completed. You might also notice your driveway has a one-inch gap where it meets the concrete. This gap gets filled when the driveway is topped. The contractor leaves this area open so they are able to get the roller in the driveway when it is time to top the driveway. Should your driveway develop a sinkhole or need a repair prior to application of the final topcoat, please contact the customer care department for assistance.
